First Time Buyers

Legal jargon can be mystifying for those entering into the property market for the first time, so we try not to use it wherever possible. We want you to understand what we are doing and why.

If funding is tight you may be tempted to save money on legal fees by using a low cost internet based conveyancer. Don’t! When buying your first property you really need an expert solicitor to hold your hand and guide you every step of the way.

We will provide an estimate of the likely fees at the start, and we will tell you if there is likely to be any material variation.

You may be getting help from bank of Mum and Dad, or you may decide to team up with a friend to buy a property jointly. We can advise on how to structure the transaction.

Buying a share in a property from an existing joint owner will involve a Transfer of Equity. We can handle the legal side for you.

Government backed schemes exist to help people get on the property ladder. These tend to change frequently but we can advise on these.
